A New York City lifestyle blog curated by a small town girl from Maine

I’m Kylie and I live in New York City with my fiancé and our two dogs.

I moved here from my home state the day after Christmas in 2017 after leaving my job as co-host on The Q Morning Show, a morning radio program on WJBQ Q97.9 in Portland, Maine. Saying goodbye to my favorite city on the east coast and to the job I loved was challenging. Lucky for me, I was moving to the single most exciting city in the world with nothing but opportunity in front of me. No job at first, but plenty of opportunity. Now I'm the manager/producer of Jenna Kutcher’s Goal Digger Podcast, weekend on air talent on New York City's only country radio station NASH FM 94.7, and a freelance videographer for small businesses and bloggers.

I’m a whole year into my Big Apple life and it still blows me away that I actually live here.

I live in a place that many people only visit one time. I live in a city where I can see a Broadway show on a Tuesday night and still fall asleep in my own bed after the final bows. I live in New York City, where now famous stand-up comedians met their first hecklers. Musicians of all genres, from Sinatra to Jay-Z to Don Henley, have written songs about this place. I'm only a cheap cab fare away from world famous Times Square, a quick subway ride to the breathtaking National September 11 Memorial, and walking distance from any style cuisine, all genres of live music, and an endless supply of espresso. Nope. Still isn't real to me.

I started this blog as a side project to fill the hours between my day job and bed time.

More importantly maybe, I also started this blog as a way to remember my experience in New York City when the day comes that the call of Maine's rocky shores is too loud to ignore. But who knows, maybe I'll become a life-long New Yorker? I reserve the right to never leave, just don't tell my mom.
